At Thorough Home Inspections we use cutting edge drone and thermal technology at no extra cost to you. Some home inspection companies charge extra for these services. We believe this technology serves to allow us to do our job better and more efficiently. That is not something the client should be charged for, it's simply what they should expect from a first-rate home inspection company.
Roofs are not designed to be walked on. Some roof types can be permanently damaged. Even the more robust roof types are damaged, albeit lightly, by being walked on. They still suffer some damage that does shorten the life of the roof. This is just one reason we at Thorough use drones for roof inspections. They give us the ability to thoroughly inspect any roof, no matter how high or how steep.
*Note, any roof inspection, be it drone or human inspector, are subject to weather conditions.
Electrical problems and heat go hand in hand. This is why we include a thermal image of every breaker box. Note that the suspect breaker in this photo has not tripped. The thermal image in this case has allowed the home inspector to locate an issue before any outward signs have manifested. We also do a thermal image of every room of the house. This can show us things like cold spots where water damage has been painted over or temperature changes in the celling or walls indicating missing insulation. Plus a number of other issues not visible to the naked eye.
